Community Health (Outreach) Programme

With a view to reduce IMR  rate in Rayagada district of Orissa, CARAM Implemented a  project (2005-08) “First Breath (Birth asphyxia) project in collaboration with NIH-Global Network Project (USA) on 4 blocks of Rayagada (Remote) frequent cause of early death worldwide, accounting for about 20% of neonatal mortality with training personnel (Doctors, Nurses, ANMs,&TBAs) at the community level and implementation of an Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) intervention to assure validity, accuracy and precision of the estimate of the treatment. As a result of the mother and child death come down.

 

Treatment Camps on Acupuncture and Magnetic  care.

 

In 2006-07 through its branches at different centres 10 free treatment camps were organized, where almost 7000 patients screened having different diseases like Paralysis, arthritis, rheumatism, spondylosis, frozen shoulder, tenniselbow, bales palsy, migrane, nasalpolip, tonsilities, appendicitis, GIT, UTI, spitnal problems, sciatica, others etc.

 

Awareness camps on Health & hygiene

From March’2006 to May’2007 conducted sunstroke care camps at 3 cities of Orissa viz. Bhubaneswar, Cuttack & Puri with three teams comprising three therapists and experts in each team. There was a 3 days health awareness program for women at Santi Mahila Samiti, Barmunda, Bhubaneswar. Also, a 2 days Diabetes camp organized at Monorama Estate. There were more than 150 people got treatment.

Training Programs

With a view to develop the adolescents, the organization has taken up training programme of Anganawadi Worker about fast-aid, management for safe delivery, infant care along with alternative medicine for treatment.

A 10 days training cum exhibition program was conducted at Bhubaneswar book fair in February, 2006, which was responded by 850 participants. There was another 10 days training cum treatment camp on acupressure & acupuncture at Red Cross Bhawan and Soochna Bhawan, Bhubaneswar in December, 2007.

 

In June & July, 2006, a 12 days training camp was organized. There was 32 trainees and more than 400 beneficiaries.
